Lisa Nelson, LCSW
Clinical Therapist
Ms. Nelson started at T.H.E. following several years working in community mental health in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in 2010. Her mental health career began within this academic context, contributing to a growing interest in community based work. For several years, she worked at group homes and was a member of a modified Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team providing community based flexible supports (CBFS) and psychiatric rehabilitation to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. In 2014, Ms. Nelson completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Simmons College. Her final clinical internship was completed at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health working with individuals with both severe and persistent mental illness and problematic sexual behavior. Ms. Nelson is currently Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is certified in Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) with her dog, Ruby.
